Browse All ProductsThe Omega Plier Standard from Miltex, Pakistan. Used for forming omega loops, auxiliary stops, and step bends in stainless steel orthodontic arch wires. The omega loop is a standard auxiliary used to limit wire slide, create activation stops, or manage inter-bracket distance in stainless steel working arches.
Clinical Confidence
Omega loops are placed in stainless steel arch wires to limit wire slide past the terminal tube, to create activation stops for space management, or to provide a reference point for measuring activation distance. The Omega Plier Standard from Miltex is the instrument used to form these loops with a consistent round profile in the wire.
Manufactured by Miltex in Pakistan, the Omega Plier Standard is a single-purpose instrument in the bending and forming category — the working beak forms the round omega loop shape when the wire is drawn around it with a second instrument or finger pressure.

Designed specifically for forming omega loops in stainless steel orthodontic wires.
Forms omega stops and auxiliary loops in arch wires for wire-slide management and space control.
Engineering
The working beak forms a consistent round omega loop in stainless steel arch wires.
Omega loops formed with this plier act as wire-slide stops at the terminal molar tube or between bracket segments.
Single-purpose bending instrument from Miltex, consistent with the Miltex orthodontic plier range.
Professional Use Cases
Creating omega loops in stainless steel working arch wires for slide management and space control.
Forming stops in full-arch or sectional arches to limit wire movement past a given point.

Clinical Workflow
Omega loops are most reliably formed in round or rectangular stainless steel wires. NiTi wires are not suitable for loop bending.
Position the wire on the plier beak at the desired mesio-distal location. Wrap the wire around the beak using a second plier or finger pressure to form the omega shape.
Verify the loop is symmetrically placed relative to the tooth midpoint before final wire insertion.
Adjust the loop opening to achieve the intended activation distance before placing the wire in the arch.
Omega loops are not compatible with NiTi wires — use only on stainless steel. Over-bending can create stress concentration in the wire. Form the loop in one smooth movement to maintain wire integrity.
